As with any piece of A.R.T:
.
This title and album has a multi-tude of meanings for me and is subjective to all who experience it.
.
Each song being inspired by and dedicated to that which we perceive as light. In its many magical functions, phenomenas, and manifestations.

………..

Light has many meanings for me. It truly can not exist without the dark.
.
The extent to which we can experience the exuberance of life is the extent to which we've experienced the depth of shadowy darkness.
.
I acknowledge the dark/the shadow and have always been drawn to its depth of mystery sometime to the point of succumbing to rabbit holes and depressive downward spirals.
.
There is such a vast universe inside each of us if we are willing to shine lights into those forgotten places. Music is my guiding light and has been critical to my physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. This current time on earth is asking us to pull back the veils & to unravel more and more of what we perceive to be important in our reality. Amidst this unfurling, music withstands as a truth to my soul.

1. Enough Light to Navigate
This year has kinda felt like one of those nights when you’re camping and you can’t find your flashlight. You crawl out of your tent.. tripping and stumbling yet somehow you manage to find what you need. Receiving deep breaths to calm your nervous system, letting your senses heighten without reliance on the light....
Intuition, gut instinct, and feeling.
Trusting and praying.

This year music has been that glimmer of light-the thread that continues to weave magic and pave the way forward.
.
These specific compositions have lifted my spirits, calmed my head, and opened my heart. I offer them to the world with that energy and intention.

2. Living in Iceland deeply informed me and changed my life 5 years ago. It started changing me from afar many years before that as I had become obsessed with the Icelandic music scene.

When I play the handpan, and as this EP started to form, I started to feel Iceland's presence. It's epic landscapes, dark nights, fearsome winds, aurora borealis, and steaming geothermic pools. The deeply atmospheric qualities of it's light-the raw and wide open landscapes were returning to my awareness.

Being in nature in this way set me free. Nature reflected back to me a new version of who I could be. I felt true psychic space for the first time to go deeper into my truths brought about by the sacred wildness I was experiencing.

I started singing to the sky and hearing melodies whispered to me on the wind. I went on multiple hour long solo sojourns into the Icelandic backcountry.

At every step my higher self and nature further alchemized, guiding me to remember my soul's calling as a sonic creator. I spent lots of time with artists and musicians while there all which I can now see was an essential part of the journey of re:membering.

When I returned to the states from this powerful experience I bought a ukelele. A little over 5 years later I am releasing a 7 track Solo Handpan EP.

My intention is to return to Iceland and offer my music as a gift of gratitude.

Feels so aligned to be showcasing the powerful transmissions of Icelandic painter Fríða Freyja Gísladóttir from her series "Downloading the Light" as the album art.

From Fríða:
"The downloads of light are works that are painted in the consciousness of love"

Blessed be.
